The Essay
Disclaimer: Any resemblance to any real
situation is coincidental. We are getting serious on this site. A
little humor may be good.
"Why we are afraid?"
1.There is a town called Sheer but in the Lashkar it is known as
the city state of Sheerunistan. There is a holy man of the Lashkar
there known as The Shiekh. The Shiekh of Sheerunistan is a legend in a
faraway land, the land of the pure, called Puristan. In Puristan they talk of
52 acres of land, a bungalow on a hill with an Olympic size pool, a horse
track, a rail track; a view from the window of heaven on earth and a 52-inch TV on the other side. They talk of how the SOS rules the little
state. And they dream of such victories all over. They talk of the
infidel muslims that were thrown out of the little state and pass on
the smoke pipe of the huka (water pipe).
2. As the victory of the legend is discussed, the young ones
have a question: "There was an Imam in Sheerunistan already. It is an Islamic
principle that you do not go and preach in the domain of an Imam
without his permission. Did he get permission?"
"No. He was very holy, a Lashkarist, he did not need permission. Allah helped,"an answer came.
And
an old wise man softly said that SOS even entered the country illegally. SOS was so holy that with all their technology, he beamed in, no
questions asked.
3. "How did he capture the hearts and minds of the infidel Muslims?" the young one again asked.
"He
did not have to. He had an accomplice, John Doe Two. They devised a plan to throw holy water on the annual elections. And those who tried to
speak and capture the holy moment got cameras broken on heads by
John Doe Three.
And those who took them to court got a certificate of
Infidelhood by revocation of membership. Democracy, Lashkat style! You
see, Allah helped!", the wise man again had a ready answer.
4.
"There are no women in Sheerunistan? How did the SOS rule them?" Another young one from behind the wall asked. "The Shiekh of
Sheerunistan had such a gaze that he would stare at the women until
they covered themselves in nikab, hijab or burqa and others stopped
coming. He built a wall for the women to stay on the other side." was
the wise sage's reply.
5. "Lashkar people are smart. They can rule anywhere." remarked the little boy, dually impressed.
The
wise sage said,"Not smart enough. The SOS has to figure out a way to
beam up. There is this ICE checking his plans. ICE wants to check the
papers of SOS. Who can check the papers of our holy Lashkar. They do
not know who they are dealing with!" Having said that the wise sage
beamed up.
6. The young one went to sleep. More questions and more answers next time.
